Rhino 3D Model Development
The Rafedesan Rhino model served as the primary design and decision-making tool throughout the project, translating conceptual ideas into a precise three-dimensional architectural system. Built at 3/16” = 1’-0” scale, the model was developed to rigorously test spatial relationships, circulation efficiency, and structural logic within the project’s strict academic and technical constraints.
The Rhino model was constructed with an emphasis on clarity, accuracy, and hierarchy. Major architectural elements—floors, walls, roofs, and circulation—were modeled as distinct layers to allow for rapid iteration and analysis. Wall thicknesses, floor depths, and structural proportions were modeled to reflect realistic construction logic.
The sloped site was carefully modeled to scale, allowing the building to sit above grade without excavation. Level changes were resolved digitally through ramps and stair sequences, ensuring full IBC-compliant circulation without the use of elevators.
