Capturing Structural Expression & Narrative
The bridge's structure embodies its dystopian concept through visible diagonal bracing, aggressive cantilevers, and an exposed superstructure. This project was an exercise in translating a thematic narrative into tangible architectural forms.
Compression and tension members work in harmony to create the triangular forms that define the crossing experience. The bulkhead connections anchor the structure firmly to the river embankments, suggesting both strength and surveillance.
The use of photography allowed for the exploration of human-scale perspectives within the model, highlighting the "aggressive" nature of the design's cantilevers.
